In conflict-prone areas across Uganda whether driven by land disputes, ethnic tensions, political rivalries or historical grievances the VoP Community Reconciliation program works at the grassroots to restore trust, promote healing and build durable coexistence.
Key Activities
- Facilitated community dialogues bringing together parties affected by local conflict
- Truth and reconciliation circles in communities recovering from inter-communal violence
- Support for survivors of conflict through referrals to psychosocial and legal aid services
- Engagement with traditional and religious leaders as key reconciliation actors
- Documentation of local peace agreements and community-defined coexistence norms
Reconciliation does not mean forgetting. It means choosing to build something together rather than continuing to destroy it apart.
